MONTGOMERIE of CAMAS

AKC SCOTTISH TERRIERS

Black-Brindle-Wheaten

"Quality Puppies, Family Raised for Loving Temperaments"

ALBUM for those Scotties who've

"passed over the rainbow"

Whether they had a long and full life, or died untimely, all of our Scotties (including their pups now living elsewhere) will be remembered long after they're gone.  You can find references on the web about how awesome Scotties are, and how they live regularly to be 10 or older (look at our Bryn, Dan and their son Duke who lived over 15 years, 13 years and 12 years, respectively), and you can find sites that talk about all kinds of problems they supposedly have.  All I can tell you is this: these dogs are the greatest - no matter how long they were with us!

DANDIE DOUGAL McDUFF

"Dan"

5/30/88 - 10/11/01

BRYN MAURA McDARE

"Bryn"

12/02/89 - 04/08/05

DUKE OF MAC EN ROTHAICH

"Duke"

3/10/91 - 7/16/03

Bryn in my arms, with Dan at my feet.

He was a life long companion of his mate "Bryn" and they had 54 puppies together.  Dan was our very first Scottie.

Large Head, but brain enough for two,

Dan's the dog that will see you through,

On the trail, sturdy, and stern, and dour,

As the wind that sweeps a Scottish moor,

In at the death, aye, Dan's all there,

Be it antlered stag, or black bear.

Sprung from proud stock of high degree,

As long as a laird's pedigree,

That on many fields have won renown,

He's not the dog that will let you down.

When badger and fox have gone to earth,

He's won a warn corner in our hearts.

That nothing but death shall ever part,

Never was truer and stauncher friend,

And he will be loyal to the end.

For auld lang syne, may you not forget,

When he is old and his sun has set.

Bryn in my arms, with Dan at my feet.

She was a life long companion of her mate "Dan" and they had 54 puppies together.  Bryn was a great mother, loved to go to the Snake River yearly campout where she was a fierce & dedicated hunter of varmints.

We loved her dearly & she will be missed in our Scottie family.

Duke was one of Dan & Bryn's puppies.  His owner, Edward Monroe, is one of favorite "Scottie Family" members.

TREENA SANGREG MONTGOMERIE

"Treena"

2/08/96 - 6/10/01

WEE KAYTEE LASS

"Kaytee"

7/14/96 - 7/29/97

MAGGIE MONTGOMERIE OF CAMAS

"Maggie"

3/29/95 - 3/29/06

Treena was a  wonderful Scottie, sister to Sarah, and a great mother - she clicked her teeth and smiled when she wanted stroked.  Unfortunately, Treena passed on, and we miss her.

Kaytee was a black/brindle who was sweet, but her life was cut too short.  Kaytee died after her 1st litter was 3 days old, very suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage.  We were able to save her litter.  None of Kaytee's parents or litter mates had this happen.

Fortunately we had two other's whose own litters were a week older.  The pups were healthy & grew up with new mothers & siblings.

"our dogs' lives are too short,
 too soon our 'good-byes".

We always called her "Aunt Maggie" because she looked after all the young Scotties and she was the alert & protector of our home...looking out the window & letting us know if someone or something is coming up the driveway.

But our acute sorrow is part of the package-deal of giving Scottish Terriers our hearts and hurtful as is their loss, infinitely greater our loss to never known deeply the companionship of such great-souled spirits.

MONTGOMERIE'S

IVORY ROSE

"Rosie"

4/04/97 - 1/15/08

SARAH McVAN

 MONTGOMERIE

"Sarah"

02/08/96 - 07/07/08

Rosie was a lovable wheaten, who was shy but loved attention. Rosie had a gorgeous face, and she loved to go.  Rosie retired spring of 2004.

In her retirement, she loved Mike, always waiting for him to come home from work, she had this little dance she would do when he came in...

Sarah was very loving and would click her teeth for your attention as if to talk. She loved to lay in your arms upside-down. She was a wonderful mother & would have kept her pups until full growth.

We kept her daughter "Katlyn Sarah Montgomerie" & she is great-grandmother to "Goldie's Roxanne Montgomerie"; her twin sister was "Treena Sangreg Montgomerie".

She spent her last 6 years with Larry & Jan Payne; they loved her dearly.
